RecordOS

Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

RecordOS is a desktop app made by Overseed AI ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information RecordOS handles, where it goes and the choices you have.

The short version

Information stored on your device

RecordOS keeps its database and media in folders on your computer: recordings and replays, transcripts, edits, project notes, ideas, sponsorship details, settings and the logs the app writes while it runs. API keys and sign-in tokens you provide are kept in private files on your computer that only your user account can read. Deleting the app's data folder removes this information.

Services you choose to connect

These features are off until you set them up, usually with your own account or API key. When you use one, RecordOS sends that service only what the feature needs, and the service's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.

YouTube and Google user data

RecordOS uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

What RecordOS accesses

When you choose Connect YouTube, you sign in with Google and grant two read-only permissions:

RecordOS never uploads, edits or deletes anything on YouTube, and it does not request monetary or account management permissions.

The Topic check feature uses an API key you create to search public YouTube videos for a topic you enter. It reads public information about those videos and their channels, such as titles, publish dates, view counts and subscriber counts.

How it is used

RecordOS uses this data only to show you, inside the app, your channel's information and how your videos performed, and to show the evidence for a topic check. It is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with anyone, and we do not receive it.

RecordOS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where it is stored

Your Google sign-in token is stored in a private file on your computer. Data from YouTube is stored in RecordOS's database on your computer. Topic check results are deleted after 30 days, as YouTube's policies require.

Revoking access and deleting data

Choose Disconnect in Settings › YouTube to revoke RecordOS's access and delete the stored sign-in token. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page. After you disconnect or revoke access, RecordOS stops reading YouTube data, and you can delete what it stored by deleting the app's data folder or by asking us for help at the address below.
